Yucca elephantipes ‘Silver Star’ is a hardy perennial large plant from the agave family. It is hardy and has low water needs, and is a very easy-care plant with few pests or diseases. It develops a thick multi-stemmed base and large sword-shaped leaves. It is a popular landscaping choice for it’s striking looks. A good accent or feature plant, they can also be grown in large containers. Bears large panicles of white or cream flowers in summer to autumn. Good for coastal plantings as they resist salt spray.

Grow in full sun or partial shade. Tolerates extreme cold and heat. Likes a well-drained soil. The plant can be cut back hard to encourage branching.

The fruit, seeds, and flowering stems are all edible.

Propagation is from cuttings.
